U.K. TV Show Portrays Mexicans as Fat and Lazy, Complains MX Ambassador

The Mexican Ambassador to London, Eduardo Medina Mora, has filed a complaint to the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) about their popular car show ‘Top Gear” and the derogatory slurs made about Mexicans on the show.

In a recent episode of ‘Top Gear’ the irreverent hosts talk about a Mexican sports car and diss it because it would be like all Mexicans “…just being to be lazy, feckless, flatulent, overweight, leaning against a fence asleep looking at a cactus with a blanket with a hole in the middle on as a coat.”

To make matters worse the show even refers to the Ambassador Mora himself, commenting that he won’t even watch the show because he just sits in front of the TV with a remote and sleeps.  The hosts also described Mexican food as “refried sick” and Mexicans obsessed with slopping cheese on top of everything.  OUCH.

In the U.K. the program is quit popular because it is edgy and controversial.  The program was named most popular factual show at the National TV Awards.
