Agmeth Amous and Somer Resar, both 30, have been stranded at Bogota’s El Dorado International Airport for over a week.
The twosome told Colombia’s El Tiempo that their tribulations started two months ago, when a man who had promised them asylum in Spain, stole their passports, bags, and $18,000 at the airport in Madrid.
The men’s trip started on Lebanon, where they flew to Syria, then Habana, Quito, Guayaquil and finally Bogotá.
The director of Colombia’s leading airline, Avianca, said that the Palestinian citizens have been attempting to contact the Palestinian authorities so as to try an solve this problem, since Palestinians need a passport to travel anywhere in the world. The airline has also been providing them with food.
