As the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival is underway good news comes to independent Latino moviemakers with the announcement of grants available.
The film festival through its Tribeca Film Institute, whose mission is to encourage the independent movie making community, and its partner Heineken USA announced the creation of Heineken Voces Grant. The grants will help support Hispanic and Latino movie makers get their movies made that reflect diversity within the community.
The grants are specifically for American Latinos not foreign film makers. Those who win the grant will also get guidance and consultation from the Institute on how to finish their film. Submission will be accepted starting in September 2011.
All applicants must already have a feature-length film production under way to be considered.
