Traffic Fatalties in Puerto Rico Drop to Forty-Year Record Low

The Transit Safety Commission of Puerto Rico is proudly boosting its lastest statistics that traffic deaths on the island have dropped to a four-decade low.  In 2010 there have been 302 car accident fatalities thus far which is a 12 percent drop from last year for the same timeframe when there was 343 accident fatalities.  This drop follows the pattern set several years ago.

In 2207 there were 456 traffic deaths, in 2008 there were 406 and last year there were 365.  The 2009 figure of 365 traffic deaths was the lowest since police officials started tracking annual statistics.
