In response to today’s budget veto by Governor Brown, Assembly member Tony Mendoza, Chair of the Latino Legislative Caucus, has released the following statement:
“I am disappointed in Governor Brown’s budget veto today. Countless hours went into crafting this plan which, without bipartisan support, was what my fellow Democrats and I believed caused the least harm for California and the institutions and services we hold dear, like public education. All we can do from here is to work hard to find out what it is the Governor really wants. The last thing I want to see is another extended budget negotiation period that harms those responsible for the services Californians rely upon.”
Assembly member Mendoza, a former public school teacher and current Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, proudly serves the 56th District.
