List of Nominees for the 68th Golden Globes is Out:  Four Latinos Nominated

The 2011 Golden Globes are fast approaching, and the list of nominees includes four Latino stars of Film and Television, two male and two female.

Ladies first. 

“Modern Family” actress, Colombian Sofía Vergara is up for the “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-series, or Motion Picture made for Television” for her role as ‘Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, Ed O’Neill’s wife in the series.

Regarded by some media sources as a surprise, Christina Aguilera’s film “Burlesque” received two nominations. One in the category of “Best Motion Picture- Comedy or Musical” and one for “Best Original Song.”

Even though Javier Bardem was overlooked and didn’t get a much expected best actor nomination, ‘Biutiful,’ helmed by Alejandro González Iñarritu, was nominated for “Best Foreign Language Film.” The film will represent both México and Spain.

Carlos, the miniseries about Venezuelan revolutionary Ilich Ramírez Sánchez aka Carlos the Jackal, received nominations for “Best TV Movie or Mini-series” and Venezuelan star Edgar Ramírez received a nomination for “Best Actor in a Mini-series or TV Movie.”
