This week the full list of contestants for the 2013 Miss USA pageant was released
Among the ladies competing are Latinas Miss Florida, Miss Hawaii, and Miss Wisconsin.
Florida is to be represented by Cuban- and Puerto Rican Michelle Aguirre.
“Pageants have given me the opportunity to really get to know myself on a level I never knew was possible. I love that pageants have inspired me to become a better person and strive to reach my personal best.”
This year’s Miss Hawaii title is held by Brianna Acosta, a self-proclaimed “robotics nerd” who believes STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) ideals taught to students through this program are what will lead them to solve many of the problems facing our world today.
“I believe imperfections or quirks are some of the things that make women the most beautiful. Each woman should be celebrated for her own personal beauty and character.”
Competing for Wisconsin is Chrissy Zamora, a middle child who once interned for Giorgio Armani in New York City.
“Being a leader is not only something I have been blessed with but also something I strive to be.”
The 2013 Miss USA pageant will air live on NBC June 16 at 9 p.m. ET from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
