The Americas Deemed Most Dangerous Region for Journalists

There have been a total of 52 journalists killed thus far throughout the world, 20 of those deaths occurring in the Americas.  The International Press Institute (IPI) at its annual conference reported the grim statistics indicating that 2010 will probably result in the same number of murdered journalists as 2009: 110.

Mexico was deemed the most dangerous country for journalists with 10 killed since the beginning of the year.  Another 10 were killed throughout Central and South America, making it’s the deadliest region for working journalists.
