Today is the start of Ramadan when Muslims around the world observe this holy period by fasting from dawn till dusk. This is a period of intense devotion, reflection and charitable giving for U.S. Muslims and Muslims world wide, observed through September 11, 2010. There are varying statistics on how many Latinos in the U.S. are Muslims. The estimates range from 15,000 to 70,000 some descendant of the Moors, the ancient Muslim inhabitants of Spain and Portugal.
