The M.H. de Young Museum in San Francisco was celebrating the opening of the Balenciaga and Spain exhibit with a lot of star power over the weekend with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Orlando Bloom and others.
The opening gala was to honor the exhibit that examines the profound and enduring influence of Spain on the work of haute couture master Cristobal Balenciaga. The exhibit that runs from today through July 4, 2001, highlights Spanish culture, history and traditions through the designs of Balenciaga.
The opening nigh bash also included fashion icon Anna Wintour of Vogue, Miranda Kerr (who is married to Orlando Bloom), and many members of the Getty family.
A six piece-flamenco band flew in from Seville for the occasion and many of the exhibits pieces were on loan from different Spanish museums and private collections.
