According to AP the oldest person born in Mexico that was also the oldest person living in California has died at the age of 114.
Soledad Mexia was born in Mexico in 1899 and came with her family to the U.S. at a very young age and eventually became a U.S. citizen. She died 17 days after celebrating her 114th birthday.
Family described Mexia as a very positive person who never ate junk food and “never took one pill for anything,” all things that might of contributed to her longevity. Her granddaughter credits the housewife with her love of sleep as the key to her longevity. “She would go to bed at 9 or 10 and not wake until 12 or 1 the next day, said Rosalia Ferreira.
Mexia died in Chula Vista, California at the Silverado Senior Living Hospice. According to AP Mexia was the fifth-oldest person on the planet when she passed away.
