Sofia Vergara was the highest-earning U.S. television actress for the second year in a row, pulling in an estimated $30 million during the 12 months that ended June 30, Forbes magazine said Wednesday.
In July, the 41-year-old Colombian beauty received a fourth consecutive Emmy nomination for best supporting actress on the strength of her performance in ABC hit comedy “Modern Family.”
Though Vergara is paid well for her work on the program, her status as top earner is largely due to income from other sources.
“As the reigning queen of celebrity endorsement deals (thanks largely to her bilingual portfolio), Vergara’s earnings over the past year reached $30 million - making her far and away the highest-paid actress on prime time,” Forbes.com said.
Kaley Cuoco, a star of CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory,” tied for second place on the Forbes list, just slightly ahead of Mariska Hargitay of NBC’s “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Each had earnings of roughly $11 million.
Seven other women, including the three Kardashian sisters, tied for the No. 4 spot with earnings of around $10 million apiece.
