Joan Piqué, writer, entrepreneur and father of Barça player Gerard Piqué, said he and his wife love Shakira as much as they love their fútbol star son!
To prove his point, Pique’s father who just released a novel titled “Two Lives,” proceeded to toast the couple during a launch event in Spain.
Shakira and Piqué attended the book launch event, accompanied by new Barça forward Cesq Fábregas, and captain Carles Puyol.
Piqué senior offered a speech during the presentation of his novel dedicated it to his late father, who “passed away when Gerard started doing well in soccer.” Later in his speech he said to Shakira “We [him and his wife] love you as much as we love Gerard.”
The book, already a fiction best-seller in Catalonia, was prefaced by journalist Joan Basté, who mentioned that “we would not be able to enjoy this novel today” if it wasn’t for the support of the Barcelona player.
