Colombian singer Shakira is scheduled to receive her own star on Sunday, a few hours before being honored with the ‘Person of the Year’ award, as part of the 2011 Latin Grammys ceremony.
In a ceremony to take place Sunday, across the street from the W Hollywood Hotel in California, Colombian singer Shakira will be presented with her own star in the Hollywood walk of fame.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce posted the news on its website Tuesday along with an extensive biography and list of accomplishments of the singer, the best selling Colombian artist of all time.
Only a few hours after getting her star, Shakira will be will be honored at the 12th annual Tribute Gala in Las Vegas for her artistic and philanthropic contributions; friends of Shakira and internationally renowned artists will pay tribute to their friend by singing her songs during the gala.
Shakira will become the youngest person to ever receive the “Latin Grammy Person of the Year Award.”
She is nominated for three Latin Grammys, so don’t miss the award show next Tuesday on Univisión.
