Photo: Senator Marco Rubio to Publish a Memoir
The Florida Republican Senator signed a deal with Sentinel, a conservative imprinter of Penguin Group (USA), for an autobiographical memoir to come out Fall 2012.
Sentinel said on Monday, the book is still untitled.
Sen. Rubio, 40, is a Tea Party favorite who has often been mentioned as a possible running mate on the 2012 GOP presidential ticket. The Cuban-American Rubio has said he would not accept such an offer because he’s focused on being a U.S. senator, this being his first term.
Rubio, who recently shared the stage with Bono and former President Bill Clinton at an international AIDS conference, is the junior senator from Florida often mentioned as the ideal running mate on anyone’s GOP presidential ticket.
“Marco Rubio is one of the brightest rising stars of the Republican Party and will likely be on the national stage for many years to come,” said Adrian Zackheim, the publisher of Sentinel. “Of equal interest is the emotional story of his family’s journey to the U.S. from Cuba, their exile experience and how that shaped the Senator’s life.”
The book deal is waiting on final approval by the Senate Ethics Committee.
