Now that her Disney Channel series has ended, Selena Gomez has more time to focus on other projects, and it appears her next may be the film adaptation of The Sky is Everywhere.
Based on Jandy Nelson’s novel, The Sky Is Everywhere follows a young band geek who loses her older sister then falls for two guys, one of which was her sister’s boyfriend. The lead, Lennie Walker, would be played by Gomez, who is also rumored to have signed on as a producer.
“Wizards of Waverly Place” ended earlier this month after more than 100 episodes, but the young Latina already has acting gigs lined up. She’s scheduled to begin shooting “Spring Breakers” early this year, and she has also been linked to a film titled, “Hot Mess.”
In the last few years, the singer/actress has successfully toured with her band Selena Gomez and the Scene, and her love life seems to always be in the news, as she is dating the uber-famous Justin Bieber.
