At least two minors were killed and three other people wounded when suspected gang members attacked a bus in El Salvador, prosecutors said Sunday.
The victims, brothers ages 17 and 15, died at a San Salvador hospital after suspected members of the Pandilla 18 gang shot them on Saturday, the Attorney General’s Office said in a Twitter posting.
The attack occurred in Apopa, a city 12 kilometers (about 7.5 miles) north of San Salvador.
All the victims are members of the Elim evangelical church, the AG’s office said.
El Salvador’s largest gangs declared a truce in March 2012, with the criminal organizations agreeing to not attack each other.
The Central American country’s homicide rate has dropped about 52 percent since the truce took effect, officials said.
