Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin is here to film a promotional video for this year’s World Cup soccer tourney in Brazil and will remain in Rio de Janeiro for several days, Brazilian media said Monday.
The artist arrived Sunday afternoon at Rio de Janeiro’s international airport from Spain, and over the next few days will shoot scenes of the music video at tourist attractions around the city, such as the lookout point of the affluent Leblon neighborhood, and Maracana Stadium, where the final match of the soccer championship will be played.
The artist is staying at the Fasano Hotel, one of the most exclusive in the city, with views of the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon.
Some Brazilian media published Monday photos of the singer on his hotel-room balcony, enjoying the view on a very sunny Rio de Janeiro morning.
The song of the music video, “Vida,” will be part of the official soundtrack for the 2014 World Cup, which gets underway in June.
The official anthem of the tourney, “We Are One” will be sung by Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, with lyrics in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
