Ricky Martin, father of 6-year-old twin boys Matteo and Valentino, announced Tuesday that next year he wants to be a father again, but this time of a baby girl.
“The little baby will come next year. When daddy’s little girl arrives, I want to be there,” the Puerto Rican singer told a group of reporters during a round table discussion at the educational center that his foundation has created in Loiza, east of San Juan.
Before increasing his family, Martin, who sought a surrogate mother to have the twins, plans to launch a new disc in early 2015 and start off on a promotional tour.
“We have to make a couple of phone calls to look for the little girl,” he saiid.
As for his new disc, Martin said he is “always at work in the studio” and announced that he’ll launch the first single in September or October.
“Music is my priority, though today it seems like it’s not,” Martin said with reference to the recently inaugurated Tau Center, which offers comprehensive education to more than 100 at-risk children and teenagers.
Martin said he was on the point of giving up his career in order to bring up his children, but didn’t do it among other reasons because the philanthropic causes he sponsors benefit from his popularity.
His ambition is to open additional Tau Centers in other areas of Puerto Rico and even in other countries like Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Mexico.
