The current best soccer team in the world, Barcelona FC has participated three times in the Club World Cup (formerly known as the Intercontinental Cup) Check out the highlights!
The first time that the Barcelona participated in the former Intercontinental Cup was in 1992. Barça lost out to Sao Paulo (2-1).
In 2006, Barcelona lost again to a Brazilian team, this time losing (1-0) against International of Porto Alegre.
In 2009, Barca won six titles. The blue-burgundy squad beat the World Students (2-1) coming back from a loss. Pedro scored the tie goal late in the match and Messi scored the winning goal with the chest.
Don’t miss Thursday’s clash between Barcelona Qatari club Al-Sadd; the winner of that match will go to the Club World Cup final. The winner of this tournament will play against the winner of the match between South American champion Santos or locals J-League side Kashiwa Reysol.
