Colombian actress Sofia Vergara, who in May announced the end of her relationship with businessman Nick Loeb, is the new love interest of actor Joe Manganiello, the online edition of People magazine reported.
“They just started to hang out,” said a source with the publication.
Manganiello praised Vergara’s beauty during an interview with People for the magazine’s Hottest Bachelors issue, published in May.
“You’re gonna get me in trouble. I don’t want to be like a home-wrecker. This person is engaged,” said the actor, who stars in the series “True Blood.”
“She’s got the curves, she’s got a beautiful face, beautiful hair, just gorgeous. Naturally beautiful. She’s feisty!,” Manganiello told People.
Vergara, who on Thursday turns 42, and Manganiello, 37, met each other in May at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington.
The 41-year-old “Modern Family” star announced in May that she and Loeb had ended their engagement.
“Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart,” Vergara said in a post on WhoSay, a Web site used by celebrities.
She indicated that the couple’s busy schedules may be to blame for the break-up.
“We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, it’s been getting worse and worse,” Vergara said.
Vergara and Loeb got engaged in July 2012 during a trip to Mexico’s Riviera Maya to celebrate the actress’s 40th birthday.
The couple planned a big wedding and talked about having children.
Vergara, a four-time Emmy nominee who launched her new fragrance, “Sofia,” last month, has a 21-year-old son from her marriage to Jose Luis Gonzalez.
