REPORT:  Popular Univision Radio Show “Piolin por la Manana” Cancelled

Reports are coming out that for undisclosed reasons the Univision Radio Network has cancelled the very popular “Piolin por La Manaña” hosted by Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo.

No official statement has surfaced from Piolin or Univision.

The morning anchor, whose nickname means “Tweety Bird” is so popular in Los Angeles it’s a must stop for the powerful and influential including President Obama and First Lady Michelle.

The Spanish-language program runs weekdays out of Los Angeles and is syndicated through most of the Univision Radio network.  The Piolin show reaches 3.5 million people every morning and has a 9.9 Arbitron rating. 

The L.A. Times once rated Sotelo as of the ‘Most Influential’ people in Southern California.  He was recently inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame. 

The 41-year-old native of Jalisco, Mexico has been expanding the ‘Piolin’ brand by taking on acting roles for TV and movies.  Most recently he was the voice of Uncle Fungus in “Ice Age: Continental Drift” and Humberto in “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta! “
