Reggaeton singer Yandel, 34, was injured in an accident in Mexico on the set of “La Voz Mexico” and remains hospitalized.
Yesterday the Puerto Rican singer was riding in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in Valle de Bravo, two hours outside of Mexico City, when he lost control on a turn causing the ATV to overturn. According to Univision he is in stable condition and recovering. Nonetheless, he will remain hospitalized for 48-hours for observation.
He is one of the celebrity judges on the “La Voz” which is in its third season.
Yandel is one half of the popular duo Wisin & Yandel; Wisin is also a celebrity judge on the show. Wisin & Yandel, who have been together for over a decade, have set a record for the largest number of singles - 11 - to have made it to No. 1 on the Billboard list. The concerts the duo had planned for Mexico City, Merida and Guadalajara have been cancelled and will be rescheduled for early 2014.
Earlier this year the singer, whose real name is Llandel Veguilla Malave, was hospitalized for kidney stones. The singer’s latest album is “La Leyenda” – a solo endeavor that debuted this summer.
