Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is advising Paris Saint-Germain on how to beat FC Barcelona in the clubs’ upcoming Champions League quarterfinal clash, French sports daily L’Equipe suggested on Friday.
The paper cited no sources and phrased the assertion in the form of a question, asking whether Mourinho, known for his antagonistic relations with Blancos’ archrival Barça, is acting as a “special counselor” to PSG.
The clips are said to highlight Barça’s weak points, especially on defense.
L’Equipe pointed out that Mourinho has lost only once in his last eight matches against Barcelona and noted his “friendly relations” with PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti and the French club’s executives.
Asked if PSG will try to emulate what the Blancos did in their wins over Barça, Ancelotti said: “We are not Real Madrid, we have other characteristics.”
PSG will host Barcelona next Tuesday for the first leg of their quarterfinal contest.
Mourinho, meanwhile, is preparing Real Madrid for the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal confrontation with Galatasaray, set for next Wednesday in the Spanish capital.
