Real Madrid will take on Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid will square off against Chelsea in the Champions League semifinals, which will get underway later this month.
The matchups were determined Friday in a draw ceremony at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The first leg of the Atleti-Chelsea semifinal will be played on Tuesday, April 22, at Vicente Calderon Stadium in Madrid, while the second leg will be played at Stamford Bridge in London on Wednesday, April 30.
Los Blancos will host defending champion Bayern on Wednesday, April 23, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, before the teams lock horns in the second leg at Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday, April 29.
Atletico Madrid reached the semifinals of Europe’s premier club tournament for the first time in 40 years by defeating FC Barcelona 2-1 on aggregate, while Chelsea advanced to the final four on away goals after tying Paris Saint-Germain 3-3.
Real Madrid edged Borussia Dortmund 3-2 and Bayern topped Manchester United 4-2 in the Champions quarterfinals, which concluded on Wednesday.
The Champions League final will be played on Saturday, May 24, at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
