Though bullfighting is still a favorite attraction in Spain, one bull has stood out over the years, and rumor has it that he is set to make his final appearance before entering retirement.

Just last month, a bull known as Raton (“Mouse”), gored his third victim to death, causing his fame throughout Spain to grow even more, but authorities

The 1,100 ton bull was named Raton due to his small size when he was born. Little did anyone know that he would go on to become the most feared and famous bull in the all of Spain. Now, at 11-years-old, and after bullfighting has come under fire from both animal rights groups and those wanting to keep certain people from getting into the ring, Raton is said to be retiring after his scheduled appearance town of Canals, Spain.

In recent events, drunk and unprepared people were climbing into rings or taking part in events and getting hurt, on occasion even getting killed.

At one point, the event in Canals known as the “bous al carrer” was facing cancelation, but the show will go on, and the famous black bull with the white triangle on his head will give what will likely be his final show before being put out to stud.

As for other bulls, animal rights groups say bull fights, bull runs, and other events are cruel and serve only to torture the animals for the entertainment of those that don’t know any better.

For centuries, the people of Spain have been obsessed with bulls, and have long used them to identify the brave amongst its population.
