It has been decades since Buenos Aires has seen such as cold of temperatures, as they are experiencing today. Freezing cold temperatures are spreading across the nation and into northern regions of Brazil and Paraguay. Today they expect temperatures to get down to freezing, as people run to find scarves and hats to bundle up in.

The intense cold weather in Chile is expected to result in higher prices for fruits and vegetables. As many as 30-40% of the orange and avocado orchards have been negatively affected.
