The 25-year old tennis superstar has just added another accomplishment to his tennis resume – winning his sixth French Open title today.

After a nearly three hour match the Spaniard met 29-year old Roger Federer at Roland Garros stadium for the men’s final of the French Open.  Nadel beat Federer, who he hadn’t competed against since the 2009 Australian Open, by winning three sets to one.

Federer was the underdog and surprised many by beating Serbian Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.  Djokovic is number 2 in the world to Federer’s number 3.  Nadal had always been the bookies favorite and of course all of Spain’s and is currently the number one player in the world.

Nonetheless, Federer’s still has Nadel beat in terms of earnings, career titles and Grand Slam titles.  Nadel has career earnings of $40,052,402 vs $62,497,310 for Federer.  And Federer has 16 Grand Slam titles to Nadal’s 9 – of course Nadel is 4 years younger.

¡Felicidades Rafa!
