Photo: PUERTO RICO: 2-Year-Old Found Wandering Alone Near Gas Station
A 2-year-old boy was found before dawn Tuesday wandering alone near a gas station in the San Juan suburb of Bayamon, the Puerto Rico Police Department said.
The child apparently used the remote control for the garage-door opener to leave his home without his parents’ knowledge.
An area resident who was on the street awaiting a ride to work spotted the youngster at around 4:30 a.m. and called police, who picked up the boy and took him to Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital in San Juan.
Police eventually located the parents and told them their child was at the hospital.
Doctors who examined the toddler gave him a clean bill of health and released him to his parents.
The father suggested the boy opened the garage door using the remote control from his dad’s car, police said.
