While police continue to question Renato Seabra, the alleged killer of renowned Portuguese writer, Carlos Castro his family said their final good-byes.
Castro was visiting New York for the New Year’s holiday with the 20-year old Portuguese model Seabra when he was murdered. The 65 year-old Castro was bludgeoned to death at the Time Square Intercontinental on January 6th where his body was found choked, stomped, eyes removed by a corkscrew and castrated. Seabra has confessed to the crime and explained he was just trying to ‘cure’ Castro of his homosexuality.
Castro’s funeral was held in Newark, New Jersey and was attended by 120 people with many coming in from Portugal. The writer’s sisters Ferenanda Castro and Amelia Castro then proceeded to pour his ashes into the subway grate at 44th St as New Yorker’s looked on. The family obtained permission from the city and supposedly was following his instruction as left in his biography.
