Earlier this week, Pixar announced it was planning to take on the Mexican holiday of Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with “Toy Story 3” director Lee Unkrich in a new animated feature.
Under Unkrich’s direction, “Toy Story 3” grossed billions of dollars and even won at the Oscars.
The announcement was made on Tuesday at CinemaCon and the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters sometime in 2015.
Until then, Pixar has a few animated features hitting theaters. March 30, 2014 is the scheduled release date of a film called “The Good Dinosaur” and The “Monster’s Inc. prequel “Monster’s University” should arrive in theaters in June or 2013. Even sooner is “Brave”, which comes out on June 22, 2012.
