Trapped Bolivian miner Carlos Mamani unfortunately won’t partake of the 1 year anniversary celebrations as he has been arrested for domestic abuse.

According to the Chilean sites “soycopiapo.cl” and “emol.com” Bolivian miner Carlos Mamani was arrested last night after police responded to a domestic abuse phone call.

Chilean “carabineros” arrested not only the only foreigner miner in the “33” group, but also his wife and her brother. No information as to what kind of domestic abuse or other details have been released.

The miner won’t be able to attend the mass and subsequent celebrations of the 1 year anniversary of the rescue held today in Copiapó.

President Piñera will not attend either, as he will be attending to other commitments in La Moneda.
