Oaxaca Death Cases Reopened by Mexican Investigators

The Mexican government and the state prosecutors for Oaxaca, Mexico have decided to reopen the investigation into the 21 deaths of protesters during the 2006 disruptions.

Many citizens of Oaxaca were protesting against the state government for reduction in state benefits and election irregularities.  The protests were bloody and lasted for months.  During that time period in 2006 21 protesters were killed as well as an American journalist Bradley Will.

The current governor, Gabino Cue said Wednesday he has created a special prosecutorial office to review the deaths.
