Doritos had all the right intentions, when it launched its very popular ‘Doritos Crash the Super Bowl’ ad contest giving the crafty and creative an opportunity to launch their ad idea in front of millions of Super Bowl fans on game day.
Pepsi, who owns Doritos, selects from hundreds of submissions to create a final slate of 10 then makes them into commercials that viewers vote on. The winning ad goes on to be one of six ads that is aired on February 6th, for the Super Bowl.
However, this year one of the 10 finalist ‘Feed Your Flock’ will never see the light of day yet is going viral on the internet.
The ad entry was pulled due to outrage mostly by Catholics, religious organizations and a conservative sector that do not like the idea of replacing the Eucharist for Doritos and the ‘blood of Christ’ for Pepsi MAX. Or maybe the Catholic Church didn’t like to see itself portrayed as so desperate for money it would give Doritos and Pepsi to its parishioners to save some money.
See for yourself and decide if you are outraged.
