Nintendo ‘Blackmailer’ Captured in Spain, 4,000 Gamers Personal Data Stolen

Spanish police arrested a hacker who allegedly stole data on some 4,000 Nintendo users and then tried to blackmail the Japanese videogame developer, according to Spanish authorities.

Nintendo stated that in the week of February 6 a hacker had - stolen the personal data of some 4,000 customers all located in Spain, and then threatened to malign the company for failing to protect their Spanish customers information. 

In spite of the threat Nintendo did not agree to the hackers demand, that is when information on a gamer was released on an internet chat room with threats to release the rest of the data on the other Nintendo gamers.

Police are not identifying the hacker and the detailed of the arrest except to say, the hacker is male and was arrested in the southern province of Malga.
