The U.S. Department has issued another new travel warning to Mexico for government employees to area where drug cartel violence is highest.

The new travel warning is banning U.S. government personnel from traveling in certain parts of the state of Jalisco and from traveling along certain highways in that state.

Employees are also being required, if necessary, to travel from Guadalajara to the cities large airport only by day.  This is the eighth state in Mexico that travel warnings have been issued for.

This Travel Warning supersedes the Travel Warning for Mexico dated September 10, 2010 to consolidate and update information about the security situation and to advise the public of additional restrictions on the travel of U.S. government personnel.  Click here to see the warnings in its entirety.
