This evening 21-year-old Cesar Dominguez-Garcia entered the 6th floor of the University of New Mexico hospital in Albuquerque with a loaded gun, which he fired after hitting his girlfriend – whose child was a patient at the hospital pediatric ward.
Dominguez-Garcia was subdued by the girlfriends’ family but only after he fired a small-caliber gun inside the hospital. The hospital responded by issuing a lock down order that has now been rescinded, when it appeared Dominguez-Garcia had left the hospital campus.
The suspect is to be approached with caution, he has a criminal history and charged most recently in April, 2010 with aggravated assault.
