Netflix is looking into series for the first of its original programming and they reportedly have their eye on wirking with Gaumont International Television for a drama series about Colombia’s notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar.
The series, Narcos, would follow Escobar’s life as he rules over the Medellin Cartel, serves as congressmen, and raises his family.
Netflix has previously teamed up with Gaumont on Eli Roth’s Hemlock, which will premiere on April 19.
Narcos will be helmed by Brazilian-born director Jose Padilha.
The first season is planned for 13 episodes and will likely debut on Netflix some time next year.
