Daniela and Dayana Pelaez, two sisters from Miami who were facing a deportation later this month, attended several meetings with members of Congress in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, March 7. The pair traveled to the nation’s capital with their attorney just a day after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deferred their deportations for two years, for closed meetings with Florida senators Marco Rubio (R) and Bill Nelson (D), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), and others.
