Marisela Escobedo, who was demanding answers and an investigation into the murderer of her daughter Ruby(16), was killed by a young man who shot her three times at close range, once in the head. Despite being taken to a nearby hospital, the woman died within minutes.
Ruby’s mother Maria, who at the time was wearing jeans and a green sweatshirt was executed by a young man shot him at point blank range.
People accompanying her at the protest, carried Escobedo Ortiz to a nearby hospital where she died minutes later.
In April a Chihuahua court acquitted Sergio Rafael Barraza, who had previously confessed to the murderer of her daughter Ruby, who died in 2008 at 16 years of age.
Since then Marisela Escobedo began a series of protests that included a walk from Ciudad Juarez to Mexico City to demand that authorities took actions against the murderer of her daughter.
After appealing the case, the Superior Court Justice of Chihuahua found Rafael Barraza responsible for the murder and sentenced him to 50 years, however the man was already a fugitive. To this date Barraza has not been arrested and a reward of 250,000 pesos for his capture has been issued .
The spokesman for the Prosecutors Office of Chihuahua, Carlos González, confirmed in an interview with MILLENNIUM TV, the death of Marisela Escobedo and reported that the incident occurred at 20:10 hours and that she died 35 minutes after the attack.
