Thursday night, Demi Lovato took home the award for Best Video with a Message at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Demi shows us it’s possible to overcome harrowing obstacles and come back stronger than ever.
Fellow Latino Selena Gomez was not as lucky, and was not able to nab the award for Best Female Video for “Love You Like a Love Song.” The award went to Nicki Minaj and her video for “Starships.”
Director, cinematographer, and photographer John Urbano was the director for One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” video which won two VMAs – Best Pop Video and Best New Artist.
