Meet Gustavo and Jenniffer Luna, the Florence, Arizona couple who tied the knot amidst a massive cloud of dust.
Gustavo and Jennifer Luna never could have known their September 10 wedding would be crashed by a Kaboob dust storm.
The Luna’s were in the middle of exchanging their vows, when strong gusts of wind blew in one after the other, and before too long dust enveloped the groom, bride, priest and guests.
Sensing that it was only going to get worse, the priest decided to hasten the nuptials, and jump into the “sand ceremony” (isn’t that ironic?); by then visibility was zero and Gustavo, probably eager to get out of the haboob and into his honeymoon said “Lets…we should just end it, let’s get out of here.”
The priest obliged and pronounced them man and wife. “You see the trees swaying in the back and you see nothing after a while. I was thinking ‘let’s get it over with.’ God. We’re eating a mouthful of dirt and everything,” Gustavo told ABC news. “At first, I was a little upset about it, but at the same time, what are you going to do? It’s the weather,” said Jenniffer.
