Want to know what the latest trends in baby naming are for 2011?

Baby Center has revealed their yearly list of Most Popular Baby Names in both English and Spanish.

Baby Center’s data comes from the names of 300,000 American babies and 60,000 Hispanic babies whose births were registered on their English and Spanish websites in 2011.

The names Sophia and Isabella ranked high in both lists. While in the case of the boys there are no matches, despite the English and Spanish lists having names that work in both languages (Sebastian, Samuel, Daniel, Lucas).

No names that work for both genders, like “Chris” made the top ten, though in Spanish, both Daniel and Daniela made the list.

The number one names for girls and boys in Spanish tended to start with the letter ‘S,’ and ‘S’  names are the trendiest amongst boys.  Meanwhile, ‘L’ names and ‘J’ names are favored for boys in the English language.
