Mexico’s new President Enrique Peña Neito has unveiled his new presidential photograph by Hector Armando Herrera Peralta. Also unveiled, in this new era of Mexican governmental transparency, was its hefty price tag of $29,000, making it the most expensive in the country’s history.
The photographic portrait was unveiled on the government’s official website this week.
The 376,420 peso price tag is hefty when considering that 51.3% of the Mexican population lives below the poverty line. While, Mexico’s minimum wage was increased in 2012 to 62.33 pesos per day and now stands at 60 cents an hour.
