Mexican security authorities are reporting police Commander Raul Espinoza and his bodyguard were kidnapped this morning in Boca del Rio in the port city of Veracruz.
The two men were traveling in a police vehicle when an unidentified SUV pursued them, whereby the car chase forced them off the road, where then they were abducted. Police reacted to the kidnapping immediately locating the suspected kidnappers car and exchanging gunfire with the occupants, they eventually eluded police.
It is not known if this kidnapping is related to Thursday’s six-hour gun battle between soldiers and drug cartel members that left two Mexican soldiers dead, in the Veracruz capital city of Xalapa.
