The fourth mayor of a Mexican city has been killed in a month, this time in a town outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Mayor Prisciliano Rodriguez, mayor of Doctor Gonzalez, was shot and killed by gunmen as he drove to his home. It is not known why the mayor, who was in office for one year, was targeted.
This shooting occurred at the same time authorities reported a shootout between rival gang factions in the resort town of Acapulco. The gunmen used grenades and automatic weapons on a residence in Acapulco when the gun battle ensued that left seven suspected drug gang members dead.
