Photo: Chespirito is on Twitter!
Good and bad news for Mexican comedian Chespirito. The good new is for his fans because he is now on Twitter. The creator of El Chavo del 8 and El Chapulín Colorado has garnered more than 300,000 followers in just 3 days!
The bad news is for Chespirito who is the most pirated artist in Latin America. His antics are the most pirated Latin American video content for a reason; four generations of Latin Americans have grown watching the adventures of the puny superhero Chapulín and the perpetually hysterical Chavo del 8.
Always full of wholesome and lighthearted humor, Chespirito and his trouppe know how to get enormous amounts of laughter from audiences without being lewd, or submitting to dirty innuendo or double entendre to be funny.
Now, the creator of it all, the Chapulín himself has opened a Twitter account (ChespiritoRGB), and despite being 82, and not particularly well versed in the world of informatics, he has been warmly welcomed by the tweeting masses, since his first tweet on Saturday:
“Hello. I’m Chespirito. I am 82 years old and this is the first time I tweet. This is my debut. Síganme los Buenos! (Follow me all good ones)
And the good did follow him. Within 48 hours, the comedian had a quarter of a million followers. One of his fans said that “after the Virgin of Guadalupe, you are the greatest gift México has given to the world.”
Chespirito’s fanbase has not stopped growing; at a rate of 230 followers per second, some say he could soon surpass Lady Gaga.
Below, a small display of the genius of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, the man better known as Chespirito and whose latest twitter prays:
“Laughter, is the brain’s expression of triumph. If you laugh, is because you understood the joke”
