Photo: Marine Wife Killed in Sadomasochistic Sex Dungeon Was Not Willingly Involved
While going through a divorce from her Marine husband in Afghanistan, a woman may have been trying to move on when she was strangled to death in April.
According to recently released court documents, just three days after filing for divorce from U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Cory Killgore, 22-year-old Brittany Kilgore reportedly went on a dinner cruise with Marine Staff Sgt. Louis Perez.
Initial reports speculated Kilgore could have been a willing participant in the sadomasochistic lifestyle, but on Thursday, 22 additional search warrants were released that stated she was actually an unwilling participant in the activity.
Investigators believe Kilgore was killed after she refused to be a part of sexual activities with Perez and his two female lovers.
The court documents reveal investigators found a “sex dungeon” full of knives, whips, ropes, pulleys, and duct. Blood was found in the dungeon, which had a posted list of so-called ‘Slave Rules.’
Investigators believe Kilgore was strangled in the home with the dungeon after she was kidnapped and tortured.
Perez, was arrested and charged with murder, along with Dorothy Maraglino, 36, and Jessica Lynn Lopez, 25. The three lived in the home together.
All three have pled not guilty to charges of murder.
Kilgore is said to have met Perez when she accompanied a friend to pick something up from Perez’s home. She later asked Perez to help her move out of her home. Court records show Perez offered to help if she would go on a dinner cruise with him. She agreed and Perez came to her home.
Investigators say just 13 minutes into their car ride, Kilgore texted her friend, saying, “Help.” It is believed Perez then sent texts from her phone before turning it off.
Four days after the night of torture, Kilgore’s body was found naked a ditch near Lake Skinner in Riverside County, California.
