The 15th Miami Fashion Week is underway, showcasing the work of more than 60 designers and with Spanish actress Ana Obregon as its official face.

Colombia’s Fabrizio de Castro, who is presenting a colorful swimwear collection inspired by the mythical lost island of Atlantis, is among the designers featured at the fashion event.

“This is the only city in the United States where there is such great diversity and you breathe fashion,” De Castro told Efe.

Carlos Miele, Julian Chang, Nicolas Felizol and Rosa Clara are among the other designers bringing their work to South Florida this week.

Obregon, an actress, celebrity and socialite, has taken this edition of Miami Fashion Week under her wing.

“I have not stopped working since I got here,” Obregon told Efe just before Wednesday’s opening ceremony.

“I’m going to be here interviewing everyone, we are rebroadcasting. I am really happy that they picked me to be the image of Miami Fashion Week,” the actress said.

Singer Luis Fonsi, who took part in the opening ceremony, actor Danilo Laurea, actor Gabriel Valenzuela and television personalities Pamela Silva-Conde and Mercedes Soler were among the celebrities making an appearance at Miami Fashion Week.
