The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (LULAC) opened up its annual conference with its agenda define by Arizona’s SB 1070 and improving the health of the U.S. Hispanic population. Key Obama officials are slated to address the conference including Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
LULAC is the oldest and largest Hispanic organization in the U.S. Its numerous community based programs seek to improve the quality of life for Hispanic Americans through its 700 nationwide councils.
